The concert to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the restoration of independence of the Republic of Estonia will take place on August 20 at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. Up to 10,000 people will be allowed to attend the event at the festival grounds.
The exhibition of the Vabamu Museum of Occupations and Freedom dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Estonia’s independence tells stories of our state and democracy and contemplates on the meaning of freedom. The exhibition touring Estonia will be up on the Rakvere Castle square on 2–4 July.
At the end of the academic year, the Government Office organised appreciation events titled “For a free Estonia!” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Estonia’s independence in a total of 14 schools across Estonia in acknowledgement of the people involved in the restoration of independent nationhood and in remembrance of the historical events.
During the month of May, students from grades 7–12 submitted a total of 95 pieces to the creative writing contest “A letter to the prime minister” organised in cooperation between the Government Office and the Association of Estonian Language Teachers, the Association of the Teachers of Estonian as a Second Language, and the Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature.
